మహారాష్ట్రలోని పాల్ఘర్ జిల్లాలో వైద్య సేవల లోపం ఓ పసికందు ప్రాణాన్ని బలిగొనడమే కాకుండా, ఆ శిశువు మృతదేహాన్ని ఓ నిరుపేద కుటుంబం ప్లాస్టిక్ సంచిలో 90 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరం తీసుకెళ్లాల్సిన అత్యంత దయనీయ పరిస్థితి దాపురించింది. ఈ హృదయ విదారక ఘటన మోఖాడ తాలూకాలో చోటుచేసుకుంది. ఈ నెల 11న జరిగిన ఈ ఘటన ఆలస్యంగా వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది.
మోఖాడకు చెందిన గర్భిణి అవిత సఖారాం కవర్కు ఈ నెల 11న తెల్లవారుజామున 3 గంటల ప్రాంతంలో పురిటి నొప్పులు ప్రారంభమయ్యాయి. కుటుంబ సభ్యులు వెంటనే 108 అత్యవసర అంబులెన్స్ సేవలకు పలుమార్లు ఫోన్ చేసినప్పటికీ, మధ్యాహ్నం వరకు ఎటువంటి అంబులెన్స్ అందుబాటులోకి రాలేదు. చేసేదేమీలేక వారు సొంతంగా ఓ ప్రైవేటు వాహనాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేసుకుని ఆమెను ఖొడాల ప్రాథమిక ఆరోగ్య కేంద్రానికి తరలించారు.
అయితే, అక్కడ కూడా సరైన చికిత్స అందడంలో ఆలస్యం జరగడంతో పరిస్థితి విషమించిందని భావించిన వైద్యులు ఆమెను నాసిక్లోని ఓ ఆసుపత్రికి తరలించాలని సూచించారు. దురదృష్టవశాత్తూ నాసిక్ ఆసుపత్రికి చేరుకోకముందే గర్భంలోనే శిశువు మృతి చెందింది. అక్కడ అవిత మృత శిశువుకు జన్మనిచ్చింది. తిరిగి వచ్చేటప్పుడు మృత శిశువును తరలించేందుకు కూడా ఆసుపత్రి యాజమాన్యం అంబులెన్స్ సమకూర్చలేదు. దీంతో ఆ కుటుంబం దిక్కుతోచని స్థితిలో మరణించిన తమ పసికందును ఓ ప్లాస్టిక్ సంచిలో వేసుకుని సుమారు 90 కిలోమీటర్లు ప్రయాణించాల్సి వచ్చింది. ఈ దుస్థితి పాల్ఘర్లోని జవహర్-మోఖాడ ప్రాంతంలో ఆరోగ్య సంరక్షణ ఎంత దయనీయంగా ఉందో మరోసారి బహిర్గతం చేసింది.
మరోవైపు పాల్ఘర్ జిల్లా ఆరోగ్య శాఖ అధికారులు ఈ విషయంపై స్పందిస్తూ, గర్భిణి ఆరోగ్యంపై తాము పర్యవేక్షణ జరుపుతున్నామని, గర్భంలోనే శిశువు మరణించిన విషయం తమకు తెలుసునని తెలిపారు. అయితే, మృత శిశువును కుటుంబ సభ్యులు ప్లాస్టిక్ సంచిలో తరలించారన్న విషయం తమ దృష్టికి రాలేదని వారు పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ ఘటనపై విచారణ జరుపుతామని అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు. ఈ అమానవీయ ఘటన స్థానికంగా తీవ్ర కలకలం రేపింది.

The lack of medical services in Maharashtra’s Palghar district has not only claimed the life of a baby but also left a poor family in a plastic bag carrying it for 90 kilometres. The heart-rending incident took place in Mokhada taluka. The incident, which took place on the 11th of this month, came to light late.
Avita Sakharam, a pregnant woman from Mokhada, started having labour pains around 3 am on The 11th of this month. Though the family members immediately called the 108 emergency ambulance services several times, no ambulance was available till noon. With nothing to do, they arranged for a private vehicle of their own and shifted her to khodala primary health centre.
However, the doctors felt that her condition had worsened due to the delay in getting proper treatment there and suggested that she be shifted to a hospital in Nashik. Unfortunately, the baby died in the womb before reaching the Nashik hospital. There, Avitha gave birth to a dead baby. On the way back, the dead baby was found . Officials have revealed that an inquiry will be conducted into this incident. This inhuman incident has caused a significant upheaval locally.
